Most people can grasp the concept of a slope or a lever. But they would not be able to construct a water pump. So when the well is too tiresome or inefficient they turn to a specialist to help them solve their problem. If, after a certain while that specialist tells them to not waste the water they now so easily access because the well might run dry, they will not listen because as everyone can clearly see – you move the pump, the water flows, he obviously does not know what he is talking about. Now that is really disturbing.
Take that concept a step further. Belief is the biggest enemy of knowledge.

Android 6 USB connection trouble

I upgraded to Android 6 and now I want to put some data on my nexus via usb. If I connect the device, I see the Nexus in the Windows explorer, but when I select that, it doesn’t show me the “Internal Storage” Entry.

Does anyone know how to fix that? Also, there aren’t really “USB-Options” anymore, so I can’t select things like mtp there.

Resolution:

had the same problem, so i enabled developers options, went in the line for usb configuration. it was on “MTP” so i switched in another mode then came again on MTP and it worked. Hope it will work for you

How to get to developer mode:

Open Settings> About> Software Information> More.
Then tap “Build number” seven times to enable Developer options. …
Go back to Settings menu and now you’ll be able to see “Developer options” there.

Quantenphsik und Determinismus

Abschreckender Titel, gebe ich zu. (Alternativ: von einfachen Ansichten zur warscheinlichen Wahrheit und was die Quantentheorie damit zu tun hat.)
Manche Dinge sind nicht einfach. Und dieses  Thema gehört sicher dazu. Also worum geht es?

Beginnen wir beim einfachen deterministischen Weltbild. Dieses “einleuchtende” Konzept ist über lange Zeit Maßstab aller Dinge gewesen. Alles hat eine Ursache.
Es ist wohl “normal” wissen zu wollen warum etwas passiert. Und am liebsten haben wir das so aufbereitet dass wir es auch noch mit so genanntem “gesundem Menschenverstand” nachvollziehen können. Am allerbesten ist es wenn man es einfach sehen kann. Zum Beispiel wie die Sonne aufgeht. “The sun rises.”
Und schon haben wir den Salat. Wie inzwischen selbst der hartgesottenste Realitätsverweigerer zugeben wird ist es inzwischen allgemein bekannt und auch ziemlich unbestritten das sich die Erde dreht und die Sonne (in diesem Zusammenhang) stillsteht. Also da geht nichts auf. Die Aussage “the sun rises” ist ein Anachronismus aus einer Zeit in der man es nicht besser wusste und deshalb den Anschein für Wahrheit hielt.

Ich denke also es ist nicht zu viel verlangt zumindest die Möglichkeit in Betracht zu ziehen das die Dinge in Wahrheit anders sind als sie erscheinen. Continue reading →
